Hey there, I'm Ferdinando!

My photo

I am a Italian game programmer currently completing my M.Sc. in Computer Science, with an expected graduation date of September 2026. I am actively seeking full-time opportunities and will be available for employment upon graduation.
I approach every project with dedication, curiosity, and attention to detail. Throughout my academic and personal projects, I have demonstrated the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and tackle challenging problems.
My primary interest lies in gameplay programming, where I enjoy combining technical knowledge with creativity to find the best solutions.
Beyond game development, I am fascinated by mathematics and theoretical computer science, specifically computational complexity theory.

My passion for games began early. At three years old, I was already playing Crash Bandicoot on the PlayStation, and my fascination with video games has only grown since then.
What has always captivated me about games is their unique ability to combine technology, art, design, music, and storytelling into a single interactive medium. Every game leaves a lasting impact on its players and in its way it makes history.
As I grew older, I realized that simply playing games was no longer enough. I wanted to understand how they worked, create my own experiences, and contribute to the industry that had inspired me for so many years. That desire ultimately led me to specialize in game development.
Picking a favorite game is nearly impossible, but among my personal favorites are 999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, Bloodborne, Super Paper Mario, Persona 5, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Clair Obscure: Expedition 33, Hollow Knight, Omori and Celeste.

My hobbies

Outside of game development, music is probably my greatest passion. I love listening to it, studying it, and performing it. I have been playing the piano since I was ten years old, focusing primarily on classical music and arrangements of video game soundtracks.
A few years ago, I also composed a couple of original pieces, which you can listen to here.
In general, I enjoy experimenting and trying new hobbies. I consider myself a creative and hands-on person, and recently I have taken an interest in cosplaying, crocheting and cake decorating.
Last but not least, I practice aerial arts. It is my favorite way to challenge myself physically while expressing creativity through movement.
